The Redworm is a specie of earthworm that is widely used by America. It is most sought after for its remarkable ability, to process organic matter into fertilizer. It feeds on rotting vegetation, mulch, plant food and in many cases manure. It is rarely found in soil and prefers conditions most worms won’t survive in. The Redworm is a specialized surface dweller and it hardly operates as a burrower. It loves (and can tolerate) high levels of moisture but also needs its balance of air. You will not find one on your property unless, you live on a farm or put it there yourself. It’s the most expensive worm on the market and can cost up to $40 per pound.

Picture Summary: the worm that thrives off of rotting vegetation.
